Churchill Downs Horse Racing Stats

Here are some stats for the 2007 Churchill Downs virtual horse racing meet:

Team 7 Illusions leads the meet in wins, with 23 wins out of 150 races. Silver Star Stables is on 10 wins, Rousee is third on 9.

Birdcatcher and Boston Bay have both won 2 races out of 2, making them the joint leaders in the horse wins category.

R J Albarado is the most sought after jockey and rightly so. He leads the meet in wins and rides at 45 wins out of 174 races. The second most popular jockey also has the second most number of wins, J R Leparoux with 30 wins out of 158 rides. Same story for third for R Bejarano with 21 wins from 17 rides. The trend breaks at fifth position where J R Velazquez has scored 13 wins from just 57 rides.

Winning Colors Grade III

To cap off a terrific day of intense virtual horse racing at Churchill Downs, a field of 9 fillies & mares 3yo and upwards lined up to contest the Winning Colors Grade III run over 6f of dirt.

The race was won by the Team 7 Illusions entrant Drive For Five (S X Bridgmohan) by the narrowest of margins (0.01 seconds). Finishing second was Nightime owned by Barking Stables & ridden by B J Hernandez Jr, whilst third place was claimed by Seen One the CC Farm runner partnered by J R Leparoux.

Churchill Downs race track has seen plenty of exciting finishes this season, and both veteran horses and up and coming superstars have made their mark during this meet.
